Feadship 50-meter yacht launch of 2026 with Yacht Broker in Miami Florida standing onboard

Why Yacht Brokers Are Buzzing About Project 717: The First Feadship 50 Meter Yacht of 2026

Editorial, LIME Time, News, Yacht News

KEY POINTS OF ARTICLE

    • Feadship launches 50m Project 717 from its Aalsmeer facility.
    • Fold-down bulwarks create deck space rivaling yachts twice the size.
    • Studio De Voogt exterior design with Marty Lowe interiors.
    • Delivery scheduled for spring 2026 after North Sea trials.

The first Feadship 50-meter yacht launch of 2026 redefines what’s possible in the sub-50-meter segment, delivering deck space that rivals vessels twice its size. Whether you’re interested in a 160 ft yacht or a 200 ft yacht, this Feadship 50 meter yacht launch of 2026 demonstrates why pedigree shipyards consistently produce vessels that lead the market.

“Project 717, The First Feadship 50 Meter Yacht Launch of 2026, is equipped with fold-down bulwarks that open to create deck space comparable to that of a much larger superyacht, says the LIME New Build Yacht Management team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.”

Feadship 50 Meter Yacht Launch 2026: A New Standard in Volume

The 49.50-metre Project 717 emerged from Feadship’s construction hall at the Aalsmeer facility on January 8, 2026, revealing an all-aluminium superyacht that challenges the traditional spatial limitations of the sub-50-metre market. The launch follows the successful resale of Project 717 through Feadship’s Resale division earlier this year to a long-standing Feadship owner.

According to Jan Schaffers, Senior Designer at Studio De Voogt, the design team extended the exterior lines as far as possible without allowing the yacht to feel stretched. Widened shoulders along the sides of the sun deck play a key role in achieving visual balance, while the overall silhouette remains low and composed across all decks. The exterior reads as purposeful and restrained, with a vertical bow and clean glazing bands reinforcing a contemporary character intended to age well.

The yacht will now undergo final preparations ahead of transport to the North Sea, where sea trials will take place before delivery in spring 2026.

Feadship 50 Meter Yacht Launch 2026: Revolutionary Main Deck Design

One of the defining features of Project 717 is the engineering of the main deck aft. Fold-down bulwarks open the space directly to the sea, substantially increasing deck width and creating uninterrupted views across the water. When deployed, the deck space and views are comparable to those of a yacht nearly twice this size, enhanced by the generous ceiling height on the aft deck.

The main deck aft was conceived to create what Schaffers describes as a strong beach atmosphere. A glass-fronted Jacuzzi is positioned aft, with generous seating arranged as a primary social hub. Large windows maintain privacy while keeping the interior closely connected to the exterior environment. Forward of the aft lounge, the main deck continues with a well-proportioned lounging and dining area.

The launch also highlighted the scale of Project 717’s main deck, and upper deck which approaches the size typically seen on significantly larger yachts. The upper deck accommodates the flybridge and a secondary helm station, clearly separated from guest areas to preserve comfort underway.

Forward seating provides an elevated lookout position, while bar units with barbecue facilities support extended outdoor use. A large dining table with ceiling fans anchors the central zone, while a relaxed bar and lounge arrangement aft completes the layout. Additional guest spaces are found on the foredeck, where seating and sun pads create a quieter retreat away from the main social zones.

Feadship 50 Meter Yacht Launch 2026: Interior by Marty Lowe

Project 717’s interior has been designed by Marty Lowe, Inc. in close cooperation with the owner and the yard. Renderings reveal a pale, pared-back aesthetic that incorporates bright lighting and granite-esque panelling. This marks the fifth Feadship interior that Marty Lowe has designed for the same client.

Accommodation is arranged for 10 guests across five staterooms. The full-beam owner’s suite, situated on the main deck, features panoramic views, a private study, and a separate dressing area. Guest cabins are located on the lower deck, completing a layout focused on privacy and practical circulation.

Feadship 50 Meter Yacht Launch 2026: Advanced Propulsion Technology

From a technical standpoint, Project 717 is equipped with propulsion technology developed under the Feadship Advanced Electrical Drive programme. Propulsion and steering are delivered by azimuthing thrusters, a configuration designed to reduce drag while improving efficiency, manoeuvrability, and onboard comfort.

The system also contributes to lower vibration and noise levels, particularly during low-speed operation. Power is generated by John Deere gensets, supported by a 100-kWh battery bank that handles hotel loads. Performance figures indicate a top speed of 15 knots and a range of approximately 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots.

Feadship 50 Meter Yacht Launch 2026: A Busy Delivery Year

According to Yacht Data IQ, Feadship currently has 18 yachts under construction or on order. Project 717 is one of six Feadship yachts scheduled for delivery in 2026, underlining a busy handover year for the Dutch yard across multiple size brackets.

At the top end of the order book sits Feadship Project 1014, a 101.2-metre custom superyacht that will be the yard’s largest delivery of the year. Also due for completion is the 80-metre Feadship Thalassa Yacht, designed by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design with interiors by M2 Atelier. At the smaller end of the scale, the 45.7-metre Perfect Lady will complete the 2026 lineup.

With her launch complete, Project 717 now moves into the final stretch toward sea trials and delivery, revealing a yacht shaped by proportion, usable volume, and careful design restraint.
